The Free Speech Centre is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to defending press freedom and supporting exiled, newcomer, and refugee journalists. We provide support through conferences, public discussions, networking opportunities, professional development, mental health support, mentorship, and advocacy for journalists at risk.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create a supportive community for exiled, newcomer, and refugee journalists, helping them rebuild their careers, share their stories, and amplify their voices through conferences, public debates, networking, mentorship, professional development, and advocacy. We believe every journalist deserves the freedom, safety, and opportunity to report without fear of persecution or censorship.

We envision a future where exiled, newcomer, and refugee journalists are empowered to rebuild their lives, continue their careers, and contribute to a diverse and independent media landscape.
