Each year, the (FSC)’s national conference on May 3rd, World Press Freedom Day, brings together journalists, media managers, members of international organizations, and activists for the annual conference held in Toronto or Virginia in the U.S.

Awards: The (FSC)’s annual event introduced the “Journalist of the Year Award”, recognizing outstanding journalists selected through a rigorous evaluation process conducted by a committee comprising Centre members and independent senior media experts. This initiative aims to honor and highlight the exceptional contributions of journalists who have demonstrated remarkable resilience and an unwavering commitment to the principles of press freedom.
